Hot Stamping also known as Gold Stamping is a letterpress or relief printing
process that uses a combination of metal printing plates with raised images,
hot stamping foil, heat, pressure and time.
In almost all cases the heat, pressure and time factors are delivered
by a hot stamping machine - see the P75 below.
The factors that make Hot Stamping unique are:
- The fact that there is no other printing process that can deliver the bright metallised finishes that characterise the process.
- It is a dry printing process and requires less training and experience than almost all other printing processes. With a little training anyone can become a Hot Foil Stamper!
- A wide range of substrates can be hot stamped - business cards, pens, lighters, fridge magnets, key rings.
P75 Single Colour Hot Stamping Machine
Pad Printing is a unique process and is achieved through the combination of a printing plate called a cliche, special pad printing inks and a Tampon or Pad (this is where the process derives its name). The Pad picks up the image from the cliche and transfers it to the item being printed. This pad is capable of conforming to the shape of the item being printed.
The factors that make Pad Printing unique are:-
- No other printing system can match Pad Printing when printing onto curved and uneven surfaces i.e. a Golf ball.
- Very large range of substrates are capable of being printed including pens, golf balls and an almost endless list of novelties and promotional items.
